Featured on Property Brothers – Making baby nursery design choices.

Property Brothers, Jonathan and Drew Scott were in Vancouver filming episodes of their show Buying and Selling with the Property Brothers on W network and HGTV.  I first had the opportunity to meet them while on Mother’s Day 2013.  What a treat!  Boy are these brothers ever tall.

I was a pleasure to collaborate with them to include my nursery decor into one of their projects filmed in Season 3.
As seen on Property BrothersProperty Brothers Episode 22 | Season 3  was about helping Kari & Boris.  Avid video gamers Boris and Kari are expecting a baby so it’s time for better digs. But with their tiny condo already rented out, time is ticking. They want four bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen and baby nursery, plus a games room and space for Boris’ action figures. The Property Brothers come to the rescue helping them find a budget-friendly dream home that can be renovated on time.

With a budget that doesn’t match the couple’s expectations, Drew and Jonathan struggle to sell the potential of a fixer-upper. The pressure is on, though, when a tough negotiation leaves less money for upgrades. Kari experiences arachnophobia during the demolition, and an unexpected plumbing issue throws more money down the drain. Boris ups the budget with unplanned technical demands but must then make a difficult decision in order to pay for them. Design choices in the nursery are clearer after Kari’s ultrasound, despite Jonathan’s attempts to influence the baby naming. And Kari’s patience wears thin when they face costly delays as Jonathan races to complete the job before baby arrives.

Decorating with wood letters. The entire alphabet!Homeworks Etc wood letters create a beautiful collage that is not only decorative, but can serve as a learning tool (seek and find) for when baby grows up and starts to recite the alphabet.  Letters can also be used to write your child’s name.  Even Jon and Drew love to see their names on the wall.

When decorating your nursery, you should keep style and design in mind as well as function too.  Staying organized in the baby nursery is essential, especially when baby is on the change table.  Hanging clothes and keeping baby’s essentials just a touch away is not only handy but a safe way to stay organized. This neutral octopus wall hook design from Homeworks Etc does just that in this nursery design.
